Cardinal Golf Club Wedding | Newmarket, ON

Easily one of the most special weddings there will ever be- my own.  

I was taken off guard when my now husband popped the question back in June 2017, we were both still so young, our careers had just taken off and house hunting was on our radar.

From that moment, I couldn’t wait to start planning- this was going to be a blast for the family planner among the bunch- me of course! With The Bride’s Essential Book of Lists (a little gift from Mom) I was quickly taking notes on every venue I searched on Wedding Wire. After visiting two venues, my husband and I decided to set our date for June 1st, 2019 at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket, ON.

The grounds were beautiful, romantic and timeless. We loved the windows from the reception space looking out onto the golf course and that our friends and family could enjoy a drink on the upper balcony; my husband was equally as excited to get free golf included in our package.

Our wedding day came quickly and the planning process was an absolute joy for me (to say I was sad when it was all over is an understatement). The forecast planned for 100% rain all week and even up to the time of the ceremony, but I remained hopeful and as luck would have it we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the pond. Once our pictures were taken the storm clouds started to roll in and it poured down.

Fast forward to now- June 2021. My husband and I have grown, purchased a home, started a family, met new goals within our careers and even switched paths completely by launching Solau Weddings & Events. I will forever be grateful for the experiences I gained from planning my own wedding; ultimately that is what led me to where I am today.
